My name is Mel and I think World of Warcraft ate my artistic abilities...

At first I thought it could be me addicted to the game itself, but I realize I am addicted to playing when my boyfriend is on with me. When he is not playing, I do not turn the thing on.

What to do...?

There is such a downgrade in my style and my work and its a repetitive pattern.

I want to get the fuck out of the office today. I feel anxious.

Wow is a game that does that, I've watch 2 friends become addicted to it and mostly every night they play it get epics and roleplay on the thing. Wow can be addictive but if it stops or harms somthing you love doing it's time to put it down.

I know how you feel. Sometimes I wish I never started playing. It doesn't help that I'm in a raiding guild eighter. lol Wow is definetly an addictive game. I've gotten inspiration from the gear and environment, but I definetly do less artwork since I started playing. I have decided to just not pay my subscription, though I'm not going to stop playing fully, I'm going to take some time away from it.

I quit last year and it was such a refreshing decision. I'm not saying you should quit because I'm sure the time with your boyfriend is nice. But maybe take some time off? Maybe try to find something else that inspires you. Maybe another MMO, book, or movie, or something.

Try going to the beach! Have a picnic. I usually feel more inspired to do things after absorbing a little sunlight and rolling around in the warm sand. Unless you hate the beach, then don't go to the beach.

I actually quit WoW because I felt it was sucking every last shred of artistic ability out of my body. Since I've quit, I've been able to draw a lot more than I had when I was playing. Just throwing that out there.

Nah, I'm the same. xD I don't play online games AT ALL if my boyfriend isn't playing and vice versa... But right now, we're both not playing, so all is good and we're both productive again... but once we get into gaming again... orz.

But then again, we never played WoW, so I don't know how WoW works on people. xD Maybe you could draw something WoW-related? o.o
